Rostislav Fraš

Graduate of the J. Ježek Music Conservatory in Prague and Jazz Department of the Katowice Music Academy. Started to appear on Prague jazz stage while still a student, which did much to his popularity.
Apart from his own projects he performs both as a sideman and a leader of Czech Radio Big-band as well as in the following bands: Karel Růžička Septet, Limited Edition, Štěpán Markovič Saxtet czy Zuzana Lapčíková Quintet.
Takes part in various international projects, such as: CZ/SK Matus Jakabcic’s Big-band, Osian Roberts/Martin Šulc Jazz Orchestra, East European Artsemble and others.
Occasionally co-works with Jaromír Honzák, David Dorůžka, Jan Kořínk (Groove), Ondřej Pivec (Organic Quartet), Rudolfinum Jazz Orchestra, Gustav Brom Bigband and others.
Lectures on sax, jazz interpretation and improvisation at the Higher Specialised Schools by the J. Ježek Music Conservatory in Prague, and at ek Music Academy in Brno.
As a lecturer, takes part in Friedland Summer Jazz Workshops and Summer Jazz Wokrshops in Prague.
